What they are saying about us.....

"Our night at the Sunray was one of the highlights of our tour in 2008.  A great crowd, enthusiastic singers and top-quality floor spots.  The Sunray shows what can be done." Cloudstreet

"Oh what a night!! S.F.C. provides the perfect ambiance for a successful evening.  It is so well advertised to such a high quality that S.F.C. just can't fail to get those bums on seats.  A lovely audience totally supporting the choruses of the songs with their fine voices.  I thoroughly enjoyed my recent first visit to the club and can't wait for the next time on 25th June 2009"  Bram Taylor.

"Your own club flyers and posters are of the highest quality and very impressive.

I wish more organisers did their publicity to such a high standard."

"I was totally bowled over by the way in which you transformed the Village hall into such a class atmosphere.  Just brilliant!!"

"...we really enjoyed it and thought it exceptionally well run and organised, with high quality floor singers and attentive audience..."

"What a fantastic evening at the Club last night (Feb08).  We can't think how you manage to make each meeting that bit different, a good variety of performers, most enjoyable."

"....the atmosphere was splendid...Good to see such a turnout...

"It was an excellent evening and a great atmosphere..."

"...a well-attended, knowledgeable club, with good regular performers, a firm but understanding hand on the tiller and very sound and committed "back room" staff"

"What a super night! A wealth of talent from start to finish"

"..a fantastic evening thoroughly enjoyed by myself and a friend, who is now a member! The atmosphere at the club is very friendly and welcoming - a very relaxing and pleasant way to spend an evening. Very good value too! Thank you for all your hard work."

"Great night - really enjoyed it. You have done a wonderful job of getting a lovely club atmosphere going. Well done. See you next time - if not before."

Club Diary

Past entries have now been archived. If you wish to view the past entries, go HERE!

24Jul08:

CLOUDSTREET were wonderful. A trio for this tour of the UK having Rebecca Wright on cello join them. It was an exciting night and a special one as they are not touring the UK at all in 2009, so it good we could attract them to our club. And all the supporting singers were female. All great and all very well received.

26Jun08:

BRAM TAYLOR gave us an excellent night. New members have also joined our membership. Supporting Bram was Woman Wants Tall Man, who were very well appreciated. A surprise addition to the evening was a couple of songs from TIM LAYCOCK. All in all a great night.

Feedback:

"a fantastic evening thoroughly enjoyed by myself and a friend, who is now a member! The atmosphere at the club is very friendly and welcoming - a very relaxing and pleasant way to spend an evening. Very good value too! Thank you for all your hard work.........Great night Bob - really enjoyed it. You and Julie have done a wonderful job of getting a lovely club atmosphere going. Well done. See you next time - if not before."

22May08:

THIS WAS OUR FIRST BIRTHDAY (and it also marked 6months at the Broadmayne Village Hall). And we were treated to Paul Downes & Mick Ryan, as well as a host of floor singers plus!

our own "COMMITTED BAND"! A fun night and one I thoroughly enjoyed- hope you all did too!!!

24Apr08:

PETE CASTLE entertained us with his stories and songs. A capacity crowd also enjoyed some super floor singers, including Bagatelle, Graham and Al Briggs.

+ + + + + + +

Feedback:

"Thoroughly enjoyed Thursday evening, a wealth and variety of such excellent talent.  No improvements necessary, I think you've got it cracked"

"Hi, many thanks for a very entertaining evening and the effort you put in, long may the club succeed.  Paul and Mick were excellent as was the young lady from Cornwall on her way to Salisbury to paint a dog."

"Bob.....it was a real privilege to be there.....It was lovely to hear all of you singing and playing, and to see a true artiste such as Tim (Laycock)- what a lucky coincidence for me to see a son of Dorset on his home turf! I know you are a little uncertain about the move from your previous premises, but from what I saw and heard last night, you have no reason to be even the slightest bit concerned; you have a well-attended, knowledgeable club, with good regular performers, a firm but understanding hand on the tiller and very sound and committed "back room" staff........Thanks again, and I look forward to seeing you in the not-too-distant future."
